Against the snow-capped backdrop of Mt. Fuji, brilliant fireworks light up the crystal-clear winter sky.
This signature winter event is held mainly at Ōike Park. From Kawaguchiko Station it is about a 20-minute walk.
Only in winter can you enjoy this spectacular fusion of fireworks and Japan’s most iconic mountain.

Saiko Kōri-matsuri (West-Lake Ice Festival)

At Saiko Yachō-no-Mori Park, giant ice sculptures created from Mt. Fuji’s spring water are dramatically illuminated after dark. By day they sparkle in the sun; after sunset they form a magical, other-worldly scene. Take the Green-Line sightseeing bus from Kawaguchiko Station—about 30 minutes—while enjoying the winter scenery outside your window. Trains and buses mean no need to worry about driving on icy roads.
